The CORE Project

Critical Original Response to Education

Motivation

All learners are unique. In spite of this, most of the educational methods and approaches are the same for all. The mismatch between the methodology of today’s teachers and learning styles of today’s students creates a big burden on students.
We, educators, should realize that skills and competences that people need have changed over time. In order to bridge this gap, we need to acquire some competences such as science, foreign languages and digital skills in addition to transversal and entrepreneurial skills which enable people tackle today’s world. If we adapt these changes successfully, we will have the power of living meaningful and efficient.
According to some researches, 44% of citizens lack basic digital skills in Europe. To overcome this problem instead of traditional methods, with modernise education both students and teachers will have the chance of using digital materials like Web 2.0 tools and transversal skills in STEM subjects. So, they will develop their digital skills and fulfill the needs of new generation. By this project, teachers will improve their teaching competences by meeting different teachers from different countries and they will cooperate, brainstorm and adapt new techniques. When you have multiple brains concentrating on an idea, it is certain that you will have a lot more ideas. As everyone knows, collaborative efforts end with big outcomes. Also, we need to be open-minded to create new teaching methods and face challenges. As in education system sometimes there are restrictions in the means of being more inspired and creative. Through our schools and with the help of activities we aim to solve these problems : innovation and creativity. Being innovative and creative brings global success with itself. Therefore, our schools should have more innovative and inspired education environment which maximizes the success of students.
The fundamental idea why our project should be funded is that for the present and future education innovative teaching is a must. Technology should be a part of the education system and learning process. Implementing effective innovative ideas into teaching and learning process will increase the value of education and help students to realize their potential.
